5 of the Most Annoying Lottery Player Habits

The Most Annoying Lottery Player Habits

I get the impression that many people are going to disagree with this article, but I am writing this from the point of view of someone who watches a friend, actually no, an acquaintance, who plays the lottery religiously two or three times per week, and the irritating lottery player habits he displays. Quite frankly, it’s annoying, but then I guess if he wins, he won’t care!

Many serious lottery players display traits which are annoying to others, and this can be in varying degrees, from mild to extreme, but it’s quite common to notice similar behavior patterns, lottery player habits if you will, in those who regularly and seriously put all their efforts into winning the jackpot.

Again, we can moan about it, but if that person does happen to win the jackpot, they’re not going to care whether they annoyed you once or twice, because they’ll be too busy living the life of Riley!

See if you notice any of these annoying lottery player habits in the players in and around your life, or even in yourself.

Overconfidence

I know someone who takes positivity to a totally new level. There is nothing wrong with thinking positively, in fact, it’s to be encouraged, but there’s thinking positive and there’s being off in la-la land. One of the most annoying lottery player habits you can display is arrogance and over-confidence. You have as much chance of winning the lottery as anyone else, obviously a little more so if you play more often, but when you see someone spending their winnings in their head and totally believing they will win, before they even put the numbers on, it can be a bit, well, annoying to be honest. Keep it real!

Believing They Deserve It More Than Anyone Else

Believing the world owes you a favor is annoying, and this is one of the lottery player habits that can get on your nerves the most. Just because you have a few debts doesn’t mean you deserve to win more than someone else, because you don’t know how many debts they have too! Again, this is down to arrogance, a trait that isn’t welcome in anyone. Keep a check on your confidence levels and how much you believe you deserve to win – are you more special than anyone else? Probably not.

Obsession Is Not Attractive in Anyone

You could call it a little OCD-ish, but one of the most annoying lottery player habits to me is total and utter obsession. Yes, we all would like to win the lottery, it would be very nice indeed, but when you allow it to take over your life and you talk about it 24/7, focusing only on that item going on in your life, it’s annoying, it’s irritating, and please, just stop and get a life. The lottery should be a fun thing you do, something you believe in and hope for, but not something which becomes such an obsession that nobody wants to talk to you because you just got a bit boring to be around. It’s not attractive, and having no friends is no fun either.

Over-Checking Will Drive You, And Those Around You, Crazy

No, you did not win; no, that is not a 45, it’s a 46, and no, I will not check your ticket again. Deal with it, you have to try again next week. Do you recognize this as one of the annoying lottery player habits in your life? If you’re not sure, ask once, but don’t keep asking me, it’s downright irritating.

Coming Up with Crazy Ideas to Improve Your Odds – It Just Makes You Look a Bit Unstable Quite Frankly

My ‘friend’ comes up with a new idea to improve his lottery odds every week; some ideas are quite reasonable, such as starting a work syndicate, but some ideas are totally crazy, such as some far-fetched notion of multiplying numbers to generate a lucky dip style variation – don’t ask me what for, because I never understood it either. Basically, winning the lottery is down to determination and luck, as well as remembering to put the numbers on in the first place; no amount of strange voodoo magic formula is going to change that, so please don’t come up with any more ideas, it’s boring.

Maybe I’m being a little harsh, but take a second to think about your lottery behavior. Do you come up with any of the above lottery player habits? If so, think about those poor people around you who have to listen to it, please!
