Bucko Review

Bucko! is a rewarding lottery game offered by Atlantic Lottery Corporation, an organization operating lottery games in Atlantic Canada. Players have an option to either play at retail or at ALC.ca. In order to play Bucko!, you must be 19 years of age or older.

Playing Bucko at ALC.ca

This is the first playing option you have as a lottery player. Playing at ALC.ca is very simple because all you need is to sign in at ALC.ca and click Bucko under the draw menu. This will bring up a play area.

From the dropdown, you can go ahead to choose the number of purchases you want to be entered for. The cost per play is $1 and the range of numbers to choose from is 1 to 41.

You also have an option to purchase tickets for future draws by simply choosing the number of advanced plays you want to be entered for right from the dropdown menu. You can play anything from 2 all the way to 10 consecutive draws.

Your wager is considered as official only when it appears completed on your Transaction Detail. If you want, you can print out your wager, but this is not necessary. The Atlantic Lottery Corporation will check your numbers for you and if you win, they will notify by way of email and leave a message at your ALC.ca dashboard.

Playing Bucko at Retail

Playing at retail is a snap! Just ask your retailer for a Bucko! ticket. For $1, the computer will randomly generate three sets of five numbers ranging from 1 to 41. With a single ticket, you can purchase a maximum of 5 Bucko! games.

If you want to be entered for future draws, tell the retailer the number of games you want to purchase in advance. Just like at ALC.ca, you can play up to a maximum of 10 consecutive draws.

Purchasing Bucko Tickets

The legal age permitted by Atlantic Lottery Corporation to take part in its lottery products is 19 years of age and above. When you buy a lottery ticket, ensure you confirm and double check its accuracy before leaving the retail counter.

Where you pick your own preferred numbers, ensure the ticket handed over to you has the correct numbers as you picked through the selection slip. You should also confirm that the games you purchased and their respective draw dates are included in the tickets. The ticket should be free of any damage or defects and in the event your ticket seems unusually damaged, notify the lottery retailer about it and in case you arrive at no solution, get in touch with the customer care department at 1-800-561-3942.

When you receive your ticket, kindly take care of it and avoid making markings on it. This is because any unknown markings may delay the prize claim process or even be reason for rejection. The only markings on your ticket should be your signature and any other required information at the back of your ticket.

Tickets purchased at retail should always be signed as soon as possible. There is a signature line on the ticket above which you should sign. This gives your ticket an added layer of protection and no one can pick it to claim a prize other than you. For online tickets purchased at ALC.ca, your personal account means the ticket belongs to you. If you are unable to sign the ticket because you can’t write, you should mark it in the same way you mark your other documents.

The Odds of Winning Bucko

For the single line, matching all 5 numbers wins you $20,000 at odds of 1:249,800. Matching 4 out of 5 numbers wins you a $100 at odds of 1:4,163. The last prize under single line is $3 which you get when you match 3 out of 5 numbers and the odds for this are 1:119.

Under the combo win, if you match 8+ numbers out of the 15 drawn numbers, you win $1,000 at odds of 1:29,515. Matching 7 out of the 15 wins you $75 in prize and the probability for this is 1:2,678. Matching 6 out of the 15 numbers wins you $20 at odds of 1:329. When you match 5 out of the 15 numbers, you win $5 at odds of 1:58. Matching 4 out of 15 numbers gives you $1 at odds of 1:15. When you don’t match anything, you still win a free ticket at odds of 1:8.

In each draw, Atlantic Lottery Corporation reserves the ultimate right to limit the amount of prizes payable in the 5 of 5 winning prize level to a $100,000. Where this limit is exceeded or reached, the prizes payable in this category will be determined by dividing the total payable prize amount by the total number of winners.

In order to check if you are a winner, you can use any of the following methods:

Self-serve ticket checkers – These make it easy for you to check on the status of your draw to see if you are a winner before having your ticket validated by a retailer.

Through the Website – The official Atlantic lottery website (ALC.ca) publishes the results, including the winning tickets where you can check.

Through a retailer – Lottery retailers have the lists of winning numbers which you can pick and check whether you are a winner.

Once you confirm that you are a winner, you can have your ticket validated by the retailer.

Bucko Prize Breakdown

Every night at about 11.29.59 p.m. Atlantic Time, the Lottery randomly draws 5 regular numbers using a ball machine. You can win in any of the following ways:

Single Line Win – By matching 3, 4 or 5 numbers straight across on any single horizontal line, you can win a prize. With this option, you can win on more than a single line.

Combo Win - Under a combo win, you can win a prize when you match 8+, 7, 6, 5, 4 or 0 numbers on a combination of all the three lines.

With a single ticket, you can win both ways; combo win and single line win by matching at least 4 numbers from all the 3 lines in a single game.

Even if you match no numbers on all the three lines, you can still win a Bucko! play.
