“Oh Look, Lottery Ticket Lying Carelessly On the Ground!”

I found a lottery ticket

Would You Quickly Grab It Or Show The World What A Real Dignified Human Does?

Now, assuming that you’re walking down the street and you see a lottery ticket or perhaps a bunch of lottery tickets all curled up and ready to be picked by its new master, what would you do in a situation like this? So this was the debate we had on a Sunday afternoon… we were all looking at different possibilities that could happen if we saw lottery tickets lying on the ground unattended! Now I might not remember exactly the words used, but I remember noting things down so presenting to you the debate of the unattended lottery tickets! We were all sitting in the living room, when one of my friends stated that he saw a lottery ticket in the bus, but there wasn’t anyone who owned it, and then it all started. And to keep it simple, I’ll name my friends A, B and C!

C: “whoa! You found a ticket and there wasn’t anyone around it, you should have just taken it dude! What the heck is wrong with you?!”

A: “I saw it, but it wasn’t mine, and why the heck should I pick up a lottery ticket that isn’t mine? I mean it could be a sting operation! Maybe someone was taping to see who picked it up? Maybe they would have jailed me for robbery! Are you friggin’ kidding me? Use your head for once!”

B:
“calm down guys, it was just a ticket, but I wonder why would somebody leave it there? Maybe they misplaced it and they weren’t aware of the fact that it kinda’ slipped out…”

C: “yeah the owner must have been too busy to notice that the ticket fell out… or he must be too drunk, or too old. You never know, but I think you should have picked it. You’re kinda stupid for not picking it.”

A: “no I think I did the right thing… it’s not proper to pick other people’s stuff, you know…”

C: “okay, granted you did the right thing… but somebody else might have picked it up and then who knows if it’s a winning jackpot lottery ticket, you’ll cry all day wishing you could turn back time!”

A: “yeah, maybe, but imagine if it was a winning ticket, I’d be guilty my whole life for depriving the real owner of his money… that makes me sad. Why in the world would I use money that doesn’t belong to me man, that’s cheating and robbery if you may! So you’re saying, if it was you instead of me, you would have picked it up?”

B: “would you C?”

C: “well… yeah, I would have.”

A and B: “Can’t believe you ha-ha! You can literally live on like that? Knowing it’s not yours… imagine somebody could have saved up a week’s money to buy that ticket and they unfortunately dropped it somewhere… you’re sick man.”

C: “well, I would pick it up… but I didn’t say I’d use it!”

A and B: “huh? Well… what would you have done then?”

C: “depending on when they draw is held, if it’s done, I’d throw it in the bin like a responsible citizen and if not, then I’ll check to see if the ticket has any address at the back… maybe some name… anything that can tell me something about the owner. If I find something, I’ll call them up to return it and if I don’t find anything, I request to post a notice in the bus requesting the owner to call me because I have their missing ticket!”

B: “yeah and how can you be sure that the right owner will contact you?”

C: “well, I can’t be sure that the right owner will contact me, but I’ll try my best to verify which seat they misplaced the ticket and stuff like that…you know, all the investigating stuff and if the guy still tries to fool me, I’ll click a picture of me handing it over to the fake owner with their signature on a paper just to protect myself later on! Ha-ha-ha”

A and B: “yeah, better safe than sorry! Ha-ha”

Missing Lottery Tickets – Your Act of Kindness Matters…

So what did you learn from above? People save so much to be able to play their favorite game of lottery, but when they misplace their lottery tickets, they wish and hope that maybe someone will return it back to them… of course it’s never easy to find the owner, but you should do your best to post ads where you found the ticket as soon as possible so when the owner does realize it, and when they come back looking for it, they know that you have kept it safe… remember never to play another person’s lottery ticket because you can end up in very hot soup. How?

They might have recorded their numbers, maybe some pictures of the ticket and when they find out that another person cashed in, they’re definitely going to screw their balls! Oh, and make sure you have proof that you handed over the ticket to someone who came to claim it! You know why already! As for the lottery ticket owners, make sure that you have your name, address and possibly a contact number so it’s easier for people to contact you if an unfortunate thing like this happens. So next time you see a lottery ticket, pick it up! Cheers!
